Hello, Tacoma Public School Students!
Your Tacoma Public Library Pathway account, which allows you to use your school ID to check out books and CDs and to access computers, will be unavailable from Saturday, September 2nd, to Friday, September 15th, for scheduled maintenance. During this time, we will update current Pathway accounts, create accounts for new students, and remove accounts for students who have graduated.
Four important things to know:
1. If you have holds or reserves on books or CDs, they must be picked up by Friday, September 1st. (We are closed on Saturday, September 2nd.) After September 1st, the hold will be deleted, and you will need to re-create it after Friday, September 15th.
2. If you have books or CDs checked out now, please return them by Friday, September 1st.
3. If you graduated in 2017, congratulations! Unfortunately, your student ID number will stop working as a library card on Saturday, September 2nd. We invite you to come in and apply for a standard library card. It’s free, and it allows you to check out up to 60 items, including DVDs. With a standard card, you also get access to Hoopla, which has movies, eBooks, audiobooks, and digital comics. IMPORTANT: Bring current photo ID in your name (and any official document or piece of mail with your name and current residential address, if your photo ID does not have your current address on it) to one of our eight branches to receive your card. 4. For students who don’t want to lose access to Tacoma Library services between September 2nd and September 15th, you can always apply for a standard library card. Youth under 14 will need a parent present (with current photo ID). If you do not have a parent present and are 14 or older, you can get a limited card.
