New hold slip format

Beginning January 2, 2018, Tacoma Public Library will use a new format for hold slips. The new format is:

  • First four letters of last name
  • First three letters of first name
  • Last four numbers of patron barcode

So, Sherlock Holmes’ hold slip would look like:

HOLM

SHE  1234

This format is similar to those used by other library systems in our area and is intended to protect patron privacy.
