Community Hub

The Community Hub at Main LibraryThe Community Hub at Main Library

An ecosystem of local partners whose work aligns with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Tacoma Public Library.

Tacoma Public Library’s Community Hub, located on the second floor of the modern wing of the Main library, is a unique space that may be the first of its kind in the U.S.

The Community Hub represents partnerships between TPL and the organizations who share space there: Remakery, Tacoma Tool Library, Toolbox Laboratories, Inc., and Write253.

In exchange for below market-rate rent, these innovative partners offer free and low cost classes, drop-in sessions, and events, bolstering Tacoma’s access to enriching programming for all ages. The Community Hub partners operate their own hours independent of the library system's schedule.

When the Community Hub is open, the public can access the space through the central stairwell in the modern wing, via elevator, or through the Hub’s entry at the northwest corner of S 11th St and Court F.
