Swasey Library, located at 7001 Sixth Avenue in Tacoma, will close for an estimated six weeks starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3 to update its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
"The HVAC upgrades will create a more comfortable environment for patrons and staff while improving energy efficiency," said Tacoma Public Library Facilities Manager Phil Torgerson. "We thank our community members for their patience and understanding as we make these updates," said Torgerson.
Things to know:
- Book drops will be closed while repairs are underway. The closest book drop location is Wheelock Library.
- Materials checked out will automatically renew three times unless there is a hold placed
- Tacoma Public Library does not charge fines for overdue items
