Storytimes have started back up for fall at all eight branches of Tacoma Public Library.
What is storytime?
Storytime is an early literacy program just for kids. During storytime we read books, sing songs, learn rhymes and fingerplays, and get moving with manipulatives like shakers, scarves, and a parachute. We have storytimes for children from birth to age five at Tacoma Library.
What are the benefits of storytime?
- Gets kids excited about books and reading
- Develops a library habit
- Encourages socialization
- Improves attention span and listening skills
- Creates quality time between caregiver and child
- Introduces new books, authors, songs, and activities to do at home
