Nurse Emily Walker at a weekly therapy session for two-year old Mickey McCann. He was with his father, chief petty officer T.W. McCann. Mickey had been hospitalized for one month with polio when his family lived in Fresno, California. Funds raised through the National Fund for Infantile Paralysis a.k.a. March Of Dimes were also used to advance research into prevention and cure of polio.
