Families in Tacoma love 2 things: 1. To read and 2. To spend time together outside. The library’s newest installation at Alderwood Park, adjacent to the Kobetich Branch, combines both of these things.
A partnership between the library, Metro Parks, and the Northeast Neighborhood Council, the StoryWalk will feature a new title every month as pages from a picture book will be displayed along the sidewalk at Alderwood Park so families can read along as they follow the trail. While the StoryWalk® concept was created in 2017 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT the library’s StoryWalk is the 1st permanent StoryWalk in the city of Tacoma and was celebrated at an event on June 10th.
