Interlibrary loan, or ILL, is a way for Tacoma Public Library to request material we don’t own from another library so patrons can access a wider selection of books and other items. Tacoma also lends out our items to other library systems for this purpose.
At the end of January, we made the decision to pause our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service due to construction at Main, where our ILL team is located. While we continue to eagerly await to reopening of Main, we understand the patron need to restart ILL.
We are happy to announce that ILL is now available again!
Please note, as we work around some construction obstacles, you can expect a slight delay in the processing of ILL materials (up to two days on each end of the process).
Our team is excited to continue our ILL services, and we look forward to finding items for you to read, research and enjoy from libraries across the country.
