Fifty-one adults enjoyed an exciting evening at 7 Seas Tacoma Brewing & Taproom, opens a new window during the History & Hops Fundraiser on September 28th. The program began with Tacoma trivia. Participants were quizzed on their knowledge of Tacoma sports, movies, and history, with the winners taking home pint glasses, hats, and growlers.
Tacoma Library historian Brian Kamens elicited chuckles from the crowd with his fascinating photographic presentation about the history of brewing in Tacoma.
Finally, 7 Seas staff led the group on a behind-the-scenes tour of the brewery and poured samples of their 4 most popular beers for a tasting.
Raffle tickets were available for purchase and at the end of the night 3 lucky winners went home with amazing gift baskets featuring items donated by several local breweries and the City of Tacoma Finance Department.
A good time was had by all. In total, the event raised $1,154 for United Way of Pierce County, opens a new window proving that history and hops are a winning combination.
