As summer draws to a close, we are so grateful for all those who participated in the 2022 Summer Reading Challenge! We were thrilled to host in-person programs that fostered connection, learning, and fun. Many thanks to our community partners and sponsors.
Fall, of course, brings the start of the school year, and with it, opportunities for learning, engagement, and support at the library. I hope you'll check out some of my favorite eResources to use this school year:
- HelpNow: free online tutoring
- Science in Context: a great resource for science homework!
- Scholastic Teachables: print-on-demand curriculum and activities
Fall is also the start of Tacoma Reads, our city-wide reading and events program! Please join me this fall in reading the book for your age level and attending unique events. I'm looking forward to Tacoma Reads: A Conversation with Julia Alvarez hosted by Mayor Woodards on Saturday, Nov. 5. You can register for this virtual event today!
Whatever your fall season holds, I hope you'll find moments to connect with your library.
