June is nationally recognized as Pride Month—in Tacoma we also look forward to celebrating Pride in July! We hope you’ll check out TPL's Pride month activities and programs at your libraries for this season of celebrating our LGBTQIA+ community.
June is also the month when the school year ends and the Summer Reading Challenge begins. Get started now! Pre-registration is already open on the Beanstack app. Create profiles for each member of your family, and even find and add your friends using this free and easy-to-use app for desktop or mobile.
Starting on Saturday, June 22, you can also pick up a paper log and track your summer adventures the old school way! We have some great programs to keep everyone engaged through the summer months, and our generous local sponsors have donated some fantastic prizes to earn and win along the way. Remember, the Summer Reading Challenge is for all ages!
Remember that because of the Pathway Partnership, Tacoma Public Schools students can use their school IDs as their library cards to check out books, eBooks, magazines, graphic novels, and audiobooks to meet the reading requirements.
We look forward to adventuring with you this summer at your libraries. Thank you for your ongoing support!
