Happy December!
A big theme of this year was collaboration. Throughout 2023, we leaned into our community partnerships to innovate and share resources. These collaborations created enhanced services such as a naloxone distribution machine in Moore Library, tabling in libraries from Tacomaprobono, an organization offering free legal services, and high-quality programs from local arts, culture, science and heritage organizations hosted in our libraries thanks to our partnership with Tacoma Creates.
When we work together and share our resources, we can grow in unexpected ways!
I look forward to expanding our community partnerships even more when we reopen Main Library in 2024 and welcome nonprofit tenants Tacoma Tool Library and Write253 into the second floor. They'll offer programs and resources to the community that will add to the amenities of the reimagined spaces inside our flagship location, and I can't wait to open the doors.
