Tacoma Reads in 2023 focused on the theme of Home: Housing Insecurity in our Community, inviting readers of all ages to connect through reading selections and programs.
The Tacoma Reads season concluded with an appearance from national poverty and child welfare expert and author David Ambroz, whose memoir "A Place Called Home" was chosen as the main title for this citywide reading program. Ambroz appeared at University of Washington Tacoma's William W. Philip Hall on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 where he was interviewed onstage by Mayor Woodards, answered questions from the audience, and signed books.
