Each spring, Tahoma Audubon sponsors a bird drawing contest, opens a new window for Pierce County youth in grades 1-8. Their 18th annual contest is now open for 2017! The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2017. This year's contest features three backyard birds common in the Pierce County region:
- American Robin
- Red-breasted Nuthatch
- Spotted Towhee
