Postponed until May 24, 2016
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Olympic Room, Main Branch
Join us for a workshop/open studio on contour and gesture drawing and painting. Participants will learn that the process of drawing and painting is often more important that the final result.
Contour drawing will help you to truly see a subject and develop the hand-eye coordination needed for realistic final drawings. Gesture drawing and painting will help you develop a sense of expression. Or just come and draw and paint on your own.
Materials will be provided (through the generous donation of anonymous donors) or bring your own. Watercolor, pastels, and colored pencils or watercolor pencils are permitted. Oils and acrylics are not appropriate for this workshop.
All levels of experience are welcome at this workshop/open studio.
Instructor: Beverly Choltco-Devlin (who, in addition to being the manager of the Main Branch, also has many years of experience in teaching art to beginners)
